First this high altitude site gave us mammoth bones, and most recently mastodon bones. The ice age one in a million discovery in Snowmass, Co. has recently claimed fame as "Snowmastodon." The Denver Museum of Nature & Science has done a fabulous job of sharing the discoveries with the local population, as well as scientists from around the world.
